JT Custom Bass creates and sells beautiful one-of-a-kind, handmade bass guitars in Seattle, Washington. Jim Turturici is a local luthier with a degree in building stringed instruments and decades of wood working experience.

Jim is the single wood worker from start to finish and considers every painstaking detail from wood selection, overall design, hand-crafted contours and precision on every aspect of sound production.

He uses quality exotic woods and the best components and parts when approaching a build. Some of his favorite woods are flamed maple, redwood, black walnut, spalted maple, padauk and bolivian rosewood. He highlights the beauty of the wood and is an expert at varnishes and finishes, whether it is a stunning birdseye maple fretboard, a saltwater spalted maple body or a black walnut burl top. A JT Custom bass is also made with the best parts, such as Hipshot tuners and bridges, Stellartone tonestyler with multiple position options, Stringjoy strings and premium pick-ups.
